1. About this policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Blanc Steeze LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company doing business as Solia Wall ("Solia Wall," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information of individuals who visit our website at soliawall.com or who purchase our products and services.
By visiting our website or purchasing from us, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy and understand how we use your personal information. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
2. The information we collect
2.1 Information you provide to us directly
- Order and account information: full name, billing and shipping address, email address, telephone number, password (hashed, never stored in plaintext)
- Payment information: credit / debit card number, CVV, billing ZIP code. Payment information is collected and processed by our PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant payment processor (Shopify Payments, Stripe, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, or Google Pay depending on selected method). We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Memorial content: the deceased person's name, dates, biographical details, photos, voicemails, video, written and recorded tributes uploaded by you and your invited contributors
- Contributor information: names and email addresses of people you invite to contribute to a memorial wall
- Customer service communications: the content of emails, phone calls (if recorded), live-chat conversations, or letters you send us
- Marketing preferences: email opt-ins, communication frequency choices, unsubscribe signals
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Standard server logs: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, pages visited, referring URL, date / time of visit, exit URL
- Cookies and similar technologies: see the separate Cookie Policy
- Device identifiers: standard mobile-browser data (device model, OS version, language, time zone) when you access a memorial wall on mobile
- Geolocation data: approximate location derived from IP address only (city / region level — never precise GPS coordinates)
2.3 Information from third parties
- Payment processor: transaction authorization, fraud-prevention flags
- Shipping carriers: tracking events and delivery confirmation
- Email service: deliverability events (delivered / opened / bounced / unsubscribed) — aggregated and pseudonymized
- Analytics providers: aggregated traffic statistics from privacy-respecting analytics (no cross-site tracking)
2.4 Sensitive personal information
Under certain state privacy laws, the following categories may be considered "sensitive personal information." We collect them only as follows:
- Religious / philosophical beliefs: if the family voluntarily includes religious imagery, prayers, or beliefs in a memorial wall
- Health information: if the family voluntarily includes cause-of-death information in a memorial wall
- Photos containing biometric data: we host photos uploaded by the family. We do not run facial recognition, generate biometric templates, or use uploaded photos for identification purposes.
We do not use sensitive personal information for any purpose other than providing the memorial-wall service the family has requested. We do not disclose it to any third party other than as strictly required to operate the service or as required by law.
3. How we use personal information
We use personal information to:
- Process and fulfill orders (manufacture the plaque, ship it, send tracking, provide customer support)
- Host the digital memorial wall and provide related services (storage, viewing, contributor invitations, edits)
- Send transactional emails (order confirmation, shipping updates, billing reminders required by law, cancellation confirmations, password resets)
- Send marketing emails — only if you opt in, and only as you have requested
- Improve the product, the website, and our customer support
- Prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and unauthorized use
- Comply with legal obligations (tax records, court orders, requests from law enforcement, regulatory inquiries)
- Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims
4. What we do NOT do
We make affirmative commitments not to do the following with personal information:
- We do not sell personal information to third parties for any purpose, including for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California CCPA / CPRA.
- We do not share memorial content (photos, voicemails, videos, written tributes) with advertisers, data brokers, AI training services, genealogy services, or any other third party — except as the buyer has explicitly chosen to make public.
- We do not use uploaded memorial content to train artificial intelligence models of any kind — our own or third-party.
- We do not republish or display memorial content outside the wall it was uploaded to, except as the customer has explicitly configured.
- We do not perform cross-site tracking of users across third-party websites.
- We do not use your data to generate synthesized voice, image, or text of the deceased.
5. Sub-processors and third-party service providers
We use the following categories of third-party service providers, who have access to relevant data only as needed to perform their service. Each provider is contractually bound by a data processing agreement.
- E-commerce platform: Shopify Inc. (Canada)
- Payment processing: Shopify Payments / Stripe Inc., Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal (industry-standard PCI-DSS Level 1)
- Email transactional: Postmark (US-based) — order confirmations, shipping, support replies
- Email marketing: Klaviyo (US-based) — only for users who have opted in
- Wall hosting: QRCodeChimp (white-label hosted infrastructure, mapped to w.soliawall.com under our control)
- Web hosting and content delivery: Cloudflare (US data centers), Amazon Web Services (US data centers)
- Shipping carriers: USPS, UPS, FedEx
- Analytics: Plausible Analytics or Fathom Analytics (privacy-respecting, no cross-site tracking, no third-party cookies, no user-level profiling)
- Customer support: Front or Help Scout (US-based, SOC 2 Type II compliant)
- Object storage for media: Cloudflare R2 (US data centers, encrypted at rest)

6. Memorial wall privacy and visibility
Memorial walls are configured by the buyer at activation as one of the following:
- Public: visible to anyone with the QR code or the URL link; the wall may be indexed by search engines
- Invite-only: visible only to people specifically invited by the buyer
- Family-edit, invite-view: family members the buyer designates can add content; only people on the buyer's invitation list can view
The buyer may change this setting at any time from the account dashboard.
7. Recording of customer service calls
We may record telephone calls to our customer service line for quality assurance, training, and compliance purposes. If we record your call, we will tell you at the beginning of the call and offer you the option to opt out of recording.
8. Cookies and tracking technologies
We use a small number of cookies to operate the site. Categories: strictly necessary (always on), functional (default on, can opt out), analytics (default on, can opt out), advertising (opt-in only). 9.2 Rights under GDPR / UK GDPR
If you are visiting from the EU, EEA, or UK, you additionally have rights under Articles 15-22 of the GDPR including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, automated-decision-making rights, the right to complain to a supervisory authority, and the right to withdraw consent.

We will respond within 45 calendar days (up to 90 days for complex requests with notice of the extension). There is no charge for the first two requests in any 12-month period.
11. Children
Our service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Memorials of deceased children: a parent or legal guardian may create a memorial wall in honor of a deceased child. Such walls are subject to additional safeguards: invite-only privacy is the default; we will accept takedown requests from any verified biological or legal parent.
12. Data retention
- Account information: retained for the duration of the account plus 7 years thereafter
- Order records: retained for 7 years after the order date (IRS tax-record requirement)
- Memorial wall content: retained for the duration of the active hosting term; if cancelled, content remains viewable in a read-only basic tier indefinitely
- Email logs: 90 days for deliverability diagnostics
- Server logs: 30 days, then aggregated and anonymized
13. Data security
We protect personal information with industry-standard security measures, including: encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256); access controls based on principle of least privilege; multi-factor authentication for administrative access; regular third-party security audits; secure software development practices; background-checked customer service personnel; and incident response procedures. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you within 72 hours of confirming the breach.
14. International data transfers
Blanc Steeze LLC is a United States limited liability company. All primary servers and data processing occur within the United States. If you are visiting from outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (EU) or the International Data Transfer Addendum (UK) where applicable.
15. California-specific disclosures
- Categories of personal information collected: identifiers, commercial information, internet activity, geolocation (IP-derived only), audio (uploaded voicemails), visual (uploaded photos)
- Sources of collection: directly from the consumer; from payment / shipping / email / hosting providers acting as service providers
- Business purposes: performing services requested; security and fraud prevention; debugging; complying with legal obligations
- Personal information sold or shared in last 12 months: none
16. Notice of financial incentive
We do not offer any financial incentive (loyalty program, referral reward, etc.) in exchange for collection or retention of personal information.
17. Updates to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified to account holders by email at least 30 days in advance where reasonably practicable.
