How It Works

A simple physical product with a digital companion, designed to last decades.

1 · You order the plaque

The Solia Wall Plaque is a 2.5-inch piece of marine-grade stainless steel. We laser-engrave a unique QR code into the surface, package it in a keepsake box with installation materials, and ship worldwide with free standard shipping on orders over $77. Most orders arrive within 5 to 7 business days. Read the shipping policy.

2 · You activate the wall

When the plaque arrives, scan the included QR code with any smartphone camera. You'll be taken to a setup page at soliawall.com where you can:

  • Enter the deceased's name, dates, and a short epitaph
  • Upload a primary photograph
  • Write or upload a first tribute
  • Choose whether the wall is publicly viewable or invite-only
  • Invite family members and friends to contribute their own photos, voicemails, and tributes

You can edit any of this at any time. No account is required to begin — activation works via email magic link. You only create an account if and when you want to manage advanced features.

3 · You place the plaque where it belongs

The plaque ships with marine-grade 3M VHB adhesive strips. Apply the adhesive to the back of the plaque and press it firmly to:

  • A gravestone or headstone
  • An urn (cremation)
  • A mantle or shelf at home
  • A garden stone or memorial bench
  • A picture frame or shadowbox

The adhesive is rated for permanent outdoor installation in temperatures from −40°F to +180°F. Some cemeteries, particularly VA National, Orthodox Jewish, and certain Catholic and historic cemeteries, restrict additions to gravestones. If your cemetery declines the installation, we will refund the purchase in full.

4 · Anyone with a phone can open the wall

From that point forward, anyone who scans the QR code with a phone camera will see the wall as it stands. They can view photos, listen to voicemails the family has uploaded, read written tributes, see the life timeline, and — if the wall is configured to allow it — add their own contribution.

The wall is hosted at soliawall.com. It works on any phone, any country, any operating system. No app installation is required. No login is required for viewers. Contributors are invited by email or share-link.

5 · The wall grows over time

The hardest tributes are written months or years after the loss. Solia Wall is designed to hold them whenever they arrive. Family members can contribute on a Sunday afternoon, on the first anniversary, on Father's Day, or on a Tuesday when something reminded them. The wall remains editable, addable, and shareable for as long as the wall is hosted.

Hosting

The plaque includes a hosted digital wall, billed at $29.95 per month for unlimited photos, video, voicemails, and contributors. You can cancel in a single click at any time. If you cancel, everything you've already added stays viewable on the wall; new uploads and new contributor invitations pause.

What Solia Wall does not do

We do not generate, clone, or synthesize the voice or likeness of any deceased person. We do not animate photographs. We do not create speech that the deceased did not say in life. The wall hosts only what the family uploads. An accessibility feature uses generic text-to-speech to read written tributes aloud in a clearly synthesized neutral voice; this voice is not the deceased's voice. More on this.
